A lot of people have memories tied to the day before Christmas – whether they be the hasty preparations for the next day, the last minute shopping trips, the all-night-wrapping parties, the traveling, the cooking & baking. However, Christmas Eve will always hold a special meaning for Mike & Lindsay.
Lindsay had just got off work that evening. Running through her list of things to do before the next day, she walked up to her door and found something special there. A single rose along with a typed poem. As she stood and read the poem, her emotions began to carry her away with the lovely words. She laughed and then tears came. She pushed her door open, heart overflowing, and there he was: all dressed up, down on one knee, a bouquet of roses & a stunning diamond in hand.
Mike asked the all important question and Lindsay’s answer, somewhere amidst the tears, was yes.
Fast forward to this past Saturday, a rainy day in Binghamton, New York. Thankfully – I had already been through one rainy day wedding this year with Matt & Jean’s wedding – so I was prepared! Plans were swiftly changed – the outdoor ceremony on the patio became an indoor ceremony on the dance floor. The staff at the Terra Cotta worked hard to make everything beautiful and Lindsay & Mike took the rainy weather in stride – reminding everyone that rain was good luck.
Lindsay & Mike – thank you so much for inviting me into your wedding day celebration! You both are the sweetest & best & I wish you all the best in the world!
Lindsay spent the afternoon with her Mom, sisters, and bridesmaids getting ready at the Holiday Inn in Binghamton, NY.
Lindsay – you looked absolutely smashing!!
Mike cleaned up pretty nice himself!
Since the rain was in the plan-changing-business on Saturday, we went to one of the “plan B” spots I had scouted in case of rain. The Binghamton Courthouse was perfect! Large, dry, and these amazing pillars that almost gave the rain a pass.
Lindsay gave me the heads up that she would be singing at the reception. It was such a gorgeous and touching way for her to show how much she loves Mike!
Mike & Lindsay had the most awesome favors! I loved that they gave everyone a mini-bottle of hot sauce & mini honey-bear!
The rain let up toward the end of the evening & it allowed Mike & Lindsay to set off their wish lantern!
