And just like that – Little Miss Lily has arrived!
Remember her sweet parents from their maternity blog highlights last week? Well, 9 days after those photos were taken, sweet Lily was born! The doctors were estimating her to be around a 7 or 8 pound baby & she stumped them all when she arrived as a little 4lb. 11oz. peanut! She is officially the tiniest baby I have ever seen, held, or photographed! But for being so small, she sure is feisty! I was over at her house twice because the first time all she wanted to do was eat-eat-eat & not sit still for photos! The second time, she was much calmer, but still wide away & very alert for most of our time together! (I’ll let you in on a little secret, most of the photos where it looks like she’s sleeping, she’s actually just blinking LOL! She did fall asleep for us right at the end, so there are a few genuine sleeping photos in there – I’ll leave it up to you to decide which are which!)
She is absolutely precious though! Complete with long skinny legs, “Sasquatch” feet (her Mama’s term of endearment!), soft light brown hair, big blue attentive eyes, and hands that just want to grab things! For being only 10 days old, I was amazing at how mature she was! This girl is already on the fast track for success – so look out world!
Both Jo & Garry play the piano (Garry actually plays many instruments!) so it only seemed right to incorporate that love of music into Lily’s photos! I loved their baby grand piano! Someday, when Derrick & I have our dream house, we will have a piano room with a lovely old baby grand!
Look at that! A smile! I got it! Promise! No Photoshop done!
