We’ve had our Christmas Tree up for 2 weeks.
We’ve visited two different amusement parks for their Christmas events.
But after TONIGHT it FINALLY feels like Christmas.
Tonight was our sweet little town’s annual Light Up Norwin parade.
We walk down and enjoy this parade every year: sometimes the weather is super mild, sometimes it’s super cold, but sometimes, every-so-often, we get a magical night where it actually SNOWS and all of our Christmas magic dreams come true.
And that’s precisely what happened tonight.
My sister texted me a week ago super excited because the weather forecast had snow in it for Light Up Night. Needless to say: we watched the forecast over the last 7 days, anxiously waiting to see if that snow prediction would actually hold up. For a brief moment yesterday, it almost seemed like we might not get any snow at all, but then, right on cue, as we were walking out of our house to head down to the parade, it began to snow.
It dropped a solid dusting on us before letting up and letting the parade roll though.
And then RIGHT at the VERY end, as Santa was coming around the corner, it started to snow again.
It was everything one’s Christmas-magic-heart could dream of.
If you’d like a trip down memory lane, here are the posts I’ve written about Light Up Night 2023, Light Up Night 2021, Light Up Night 2020, and Light Up Night 2016 (we were sick and missed Light Up Night in 2022, but why I didn’t write blog posts the other years is beyond me?)
Of course: the highlight of the evening was when GRANDPA came around the corner driving the famous blue Eichelberger and Sons truck!
Now THIS is how one should PROPERLY throw candy during a parade!
Needless to say: we came home with about 10 pounds of candy (no exaggeration!)
It’s now officially the holidays! Merry Christmas!
