Birthday party themes are a VERY serious topic in the Abbey house.
They are literally discussed all year long.
Leander had his mind completely made up back in the summer that he wanted a “Peach” birthday party – meaning a “Princess Peach” birthday party. We further flushed out that idea to include Mario and the rest of the gang, but Princess Peach – his absolute favorite character in the Super Mario “Universe” was the center focus of his party. (Pink birthday cake and all!)
And so, earlier this week we transformed our living room into a Super Mario explosion and celebrated our sweet boy turning FIVE years old!
Five seems like such a major milestone – one that I just don’t feel like we should have arrived at yet! I mean, didn’t this little man just arrive in our lives, like 30 seconds ago? I’m very very much in denial over the fact that I have a 5 and soon-to-be 9 year old. And yet, as much as I’m in denial, I absolutely adore everything that our sweet FIVE year old son is. I am so thankful for him and the little man he’s becoming!
(If you’d like to take a trip down memory lane, here is the post from Leander’s 4th birthday party, his 3rd birthday party, his 2nd birthday party, and his 1st birthday party!)
You know I can no longer just take photos – so click below to watch Leander’s 5th birthday FILM!
But, I still took photos too.
I seriously cannot decide which format I love more! This will likely be a debate that I have for the rest of my life.
Here are some of the things I got to make his party extra special!
Mario Birthday Backdrop, Mario Balloons, Princess Peach Balloons, Red, Green, and Gold Balloons, Giant Number 5 Balloon, Mario Happy Birthday Banner, Mario Window Stickies, Mario Masks & Party Favors
