Lauren & Tim had been dating for about two years & it was time to take the next step. Between their interlocking friend circles & the 6 kids between the two of them – their lives had blended seamlessly & it was obvious to everyone what was right around the corner.
Did I mention that together, Lauren & Tim have 6 children? Tim wanted them to be involved in his proposing to Lauren & but he wanted them to be as surprised as Lauren would be – so he kept all of his plans completely secret.
And that was great – until Lauren sprang the news on Tim that she wanted to take the kids on a spur-of-the-moment trip to the beach before school started back up again. They had a family photo session planned for Saturday evening – so she told Tim she planned to leave early Sunday morning. For a split second, Tim hesitated – he wanted Lauren to go & take the kids & have a splendid time – but it meant that they would spend their first, freshly engaged days, in separate states.
Refusing to give up the surprise, he quickly regained his composure & said: “Sure! That sounds great!”
Saturday evening arrived & amid packing for their trip to the beach, the family set out to White Oak Park to meet a photographer for family photos. (& man, I wish that photographer had been me, but alas, it wasn’t). Tim had arranged everything with the photographer ahead of time – so about mid-way thru the session, she asked the kids to all sit down on some big rocks, while she pulled Tim & Lauren out in front of them. She then asked the kids (in the background) to close their eyes, while Mom & Dad kissed (in the foreground).
This was Tim’s cue: he kissed Lauren & then pulled out a gorgeous diamond ring. As Lauren gasped in complete shock at what was happening, the kids opened their eyes began to open their eyes.
It didn’t take long for the kids to completely freak out. Before Tim & Lauren even realized what was happening, their 6 kids were screaming, and cheering, and crying, and running down to Tim & Lauren. The moment could not have been more perfect.
And that perfection continued as this past Saturday was the big day! It was a gorgeous, amazing, full-to-the-brim spring day – perfect for an outdoor wedding! Surrounded by their family & interlocking friend circles (I saw so many familiar faces from Tabitha & Jude’s wedding!), Lauren & Tim officially became a sweet new family of eight!
Lauren & Tim – I couldn’t imagine a better, happier wedding to kick off my 2021 wedding season with! It was my highest honor to be able to laugh & celebrate with you both as you tied the knot. The day could not have gone more perfect & I am just so thrilled to have been a part of your big day.
Look at this huge group of fabulous people that stood up on Lauren’s side!
And then it was on to SanaView Farms – they have the most amazing outdoor ceremony space! I was absolutely obsessed with it!
Thankfully, Lauren & Tim did not attempt unity candles (because the wind was so fierce they never would have stayed lit!) – they did do a sand ceremony though that they included their 6 kids in & it was absolutely beautiful!
The new “party of 8”!
I’ve taken a lot of bridal portraits – but this is definitely one of my favorite! Lauren laughed all day long – her happiness just bubbled over. And, as we were taking a few bridal portraits, that laughter & happiness naturally came out & I am obsessed with it!
Can you even handle their sweet little guy – the only boy in the family – sitting & staring up at them as they had their first dance?!
After their first dance ended, they invited all of the kids out to share a special dance with them & it was perfection.
Look who! Tabitha & Jude (and soon to be baby!!) It was so fun to see them!!
Sparklers were the perfect way to end the perfect day!
Huge shout-out and thank you to the amazing team of vendors, as well as friends & family, who helped make Lauren & Tim’s wedding day absolutely perfect!
