This is our experience, as a family of 4 (with younger kids), at Kennywood Park’s Phantom Fall Fest.
Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, PA (just outside of Pittsburgh) is our “home” amusement park, so we are there A LOT. When the regular season ends and the “off season” officially kicks into gear, we literally don’t know what to do with ourselves on random Tuesday nights (because, if it was summer, we’d probably find ourselves at Kennywood).
The Halloween season has always brought “Fright Nights” to Kennywood – an event I have never attended and swore I never would. However, two years ago, the park changed their policies, re-branded, and “Phantom Fall Fest” was born – the park is now open during the day for families (and those not-so-into the scare stuff) to be able to come in and still enjoy the park, before dusk when the park “flips” into scare mode.
In other words: our Kennywood season now extends all the way until the end of the year – and we LOVE it.
On this particular visit, Kennywood invited us to check out their new “Open Body Buffet” – check out our experience at (9:12)
*PLEASE NOTE: If you are headed to Kennywood for Phantom Fall Fest – the bag policy that they enacted last fall is BACK. Security is extremely tight! So, if you plan to visit the park, be sure to check the new security guidelines on Kennywood’s website so you are prepared to go through security.
Of course, what is a post without photos? Here are a few photos from our day from my iPhone (because of Kennywood’s re-newed Phantom Fall Fest bag policy – we are not able to bring our cameras into the park).
