Experience Kennywood Park’s Holiday Lights opening night 2025 with us as we explore the stunning Christmas displays, ride some rides, eat some delicious food, and check out everything new for 2025. This vlog captures what it’s really like to visit Kennywood Holiday Lights with kids, including our favorite moments, must-see attractions, and tips for your trip. If you’re planning a visit or searching for the best Pittsburgh holiday events, this video gives you a full look at the magic. Join our family of four as we walk through Kennywood’s brightest and most beautiful event of the year!
Holiday Lights is my personal FAVORITE event that Kennywood puts on every year and this year it’s BIGGER and BETTER than ever!! With more than three million lights, the park is absolutely stunning and glowing with Christmas cheer!
If you live in the Pittsburgh area – Holiday Lights at Kennywood Park is a MUST during the Christmas season. Bundle everyone up and go enjoy the incredible festivities, delicious food, and holiday atmosphere you can only find at Kennywood.
A few of our FAVORITE spots at Holiday Lights:
• Meet Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble, and friends in Christmas Town (back from last year and SUCH a fun addition to the event!)
• Nightly at 5:45pm, be a part of the park lighting up the tallest Christmas Tree in Pennsylvania (right in the middle of the park)
• Kennywood Junction has been re-themed to Gingerbread Junction! This whole newly imagined area is so fun – the lights are synchronized to the music, the train ride has been updated with gingerbread fun, and this is also Santa’s new home in the Celebration Station (which has been completely overhauled from Easter and looks SO cute!)
• Behind Cosmic Chaos, Carousel Burger, and Kangaroo is an entirely newly re-themed area of the park and it is my FAVORITE! The blue and green and purple lights strung from the trees and raining down are STUNNING. I could easily stand in this section for a very long time, just to look around!
• Holiday Reflections is a show that happens around the lagoon every 30 minutes starting at 6pm – it’s beautiful and so festive – perfect to put a little Christmas pep in your step!
If you want to go back and see some videos and photos photos from our previous years enjoying Holiday Lights, you can hop back to 2024 here, 2023 here, 2022 here, 2021 here, 2018 here, and 2017 here – even though we went to Holiday Lights in 2019, I didn’t write a blog post about it, and thanks to the pandemic, Kennywood did not host Holiday Lights in 2020.
And because – what’s a blog post without photos – here are just a few. (These are just iPhone snaps: I choose not to take my “big” camera with us on opening night – it’s just too much while trying to vlog and also have fun. We’ll be back in the coming weeks and I’ll take my camera then!)
