On Saturday, we visited Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, PA for the OPENING NIGH T of their Holiday Lights! With over 1 million lights decorating the park, the tallest Christmas Tree in Pennsylvania, rides, food, a massive train display, SANTA, and so much more, this is our FAVORITE “last hurrah” of the amusement park season.
This is our 7th year in a row visiting Kennywood Park for Holiday Lights and the park just gets better and better every year! The light displays are more epic, there are more attractions to enjoy, and the overall atmosphere continues to improve year over year.
And this year was no exception!
Even though it was absolutely FRIGID on Saturday, that didn’t stop us from snagging rides on the Kangaroo, carousel, train, and a few kiddieland rides.
The kids wrote letters to Santa, fed the animals (a HUGE highlight), and we even had dinner with Santa (as part of the special “influencers event” we were a part of).
I have to admit: when they lit that gigantic Christmas Tree at 6pm, my eyes welled up with tears – it is such a monumental event to kick off the start of the holiday season and I am SO ready for all the magic that this season brings!
If you’ve never been to Kennywood Park for Holiday Lights, we HIGHLY recommend it! It’s sure to put you in the Christmas spirit! (Just watch out for the slightly creepy nutcracker (4:17).
If you want to go back & see some photos from our previous years enjoying Holiday Lights, you can hop back to 2021 here, 2018 here, and 2017 here – even though we went to Holiday Lights in 2019, I didn’t write a blog post about it & thanks to the pandemic, Kennywood did not host Holiday Lights in 2020.
And because – what’s a blog post without photos – here are just a few (these are a mix of iPhone snaps & photos taken with my “big” camera).
