..to see images from Kate & Rob’s rehearsal the night before – hop over to my post here!
They met at a local restaurant. He was coming in for dinner and she was the waitress.
He was from Texas but was in the area working with the gas & oil boom that was happening. She wrote him off as just another “gas guy” & when he asked her out, she laughed at him & refused. He wouldn’t give up though and just kept coming back. Eventually, she gave in, and was swept away by his dedication, southern charm, and hard working nature. Before she knew it, she had fallen head over heels for the tall Texan.
I have never photographed a wedding, where the groom worked so diligently to make everything perfect for his bride. While Kate was getting her hair & makeup done, Rob was making sure every detail was in place. During the time that the groom typically is relaxing with his friends, Rob was running from the ceremony site, up to the barn where the reception was, setting things up, helping everyone with preparations, selflessly working to make sure everything was in place.
Rob wasn’t doing it alone though – there was a whole team of family & friends who had traveled in for the wedding – who joyfully pitched in to make Kate & Rob’s wedding spectacular!
By the time Kate arrived, everything was perfect. This is the first season Weaver View Farms has held weddings in their barn and it was the perfect setting for Kate & Rob’s elegant country wedding. Complete with oodles of wildflowers, cowboy boots, hay bales, twinkling lights, and the most amazing southern cooking you’ve ever tasted [catered by the best man!] – it was the perfect wedding. And it wasn’t just perfect because of the beautiful setting, decorations, and details – the love that Kate & Rob’s family & friends brought to the wedding was contagious. It was impossible not to be caught up and swept away by the happiness that was overflowing from the day.
Kate & Rob – thank you so much for allowing me to celebrate your beautiful wedding day with you both! I left high on love & happiness and wish you both the very best!!
Kate & Rob did something I have never seen during a ceremony before – they sawed through a log! It was meant to show that they now must work together to overcome obstacles in their married life – it was a beautiful moment!
Since Weaver View Farms is an Amish owned farm, they took Kate & Rob for a horse & buggy ride around the property after they were married! How fun!
The barn was beautiful! The decorations enhanced the gorgeous wood & country feel!
