Jonathan and Sydney met at an event at Seton Hill.
Sydney instantly had a crush on Jonathan – the tall guy with the big laugh on the other side of the room.
And Jonathan instantly was fascinated by Sydney – the tiny girl with a massive smile who literally lit up the entire room.
Sydney officially made the first move and invited Jonathan over to her house – she had that secret crush on him, but she honestly just wanted to get to know him better and become friends.
They sat and talked for hours and by the end of that evening, Jonathan had asked Sydney to go out on their first (official) date.
Fast forward to spring of last year – Jonathan knew that Sydney was obsessed with cherry blossoms, so he started researching: when was peak cherry blossom season and where were the BEST blooms?
He compiled all of his research and then he asked Sydney to join him on a picnic.
The picnic invitation was a tiny bit suspicious (because it was quite out of their ordinary), but when he then suggested that they “dress up” for their picnic, then Sydney got very suspicious.
They picked up sushi and ate it as they walked the route through the cherry blossoms that Jonathan had planned. When they reached the specific spot that Jonathan had scoped out, he got down on one knee and asked Sydney to spend the rest of her life with him.
And she enthusiastically said, “YES!”
Afterward, Jonathan asked Sydney if she had been surprised by his proposal, and she said, “Well, I wondered. Not only did you set up this whole picnic thing and ask me to get dressed up, but all day long you’ve just kept saying how much you love me. You said it so many times that it was making me very suspicious!” (How sweet is that?!)
And this past Saturday was the big day! They said they felt like the day would never come, and then suddenly, their wedding day was flying by.
From the moment I walked into the salon where Sydney and her bridesmaids were getting their hair done, I honestly do not think she stopped smiling for a single moment the entire day. Sydney’s smile was massive and present all day long and she just kept saying: “I’m SO happy! I’m SO happy!”
And it was very obviously just how happy she was – all day long she and Jonathan laughed and celebrated and you could tell that they were thoroughly in the moment and enjoying the fact that it was their wedding day.
That moment when it finally sunk in and was REAL – that today was her wedding day!
Jonathan and Sydney didn’t want to do a First Look – Jonathan really wanted to see Sydney for the first time as she was walking down the aisle to him.
So instead, they opted to do an “Invisible First Look” (or a “First Touch”) instead. It was SO sweet!
I LOVE this comparison! While I was taking the above photo, my amazing second shooter, Darcie, was taking the following photo at the same time! I LOVE how epic it is!!
They exchanged love letters and talked – they laughed and expressed how excited they were – it was such a beautiful moment.
Sydney’s dog, Macy, got to attend the entire wedding day (and she threatened to steal the show!) She is just so beautiful and was so well behaved! I love when dogs get to attend their owner’s weddings!
I have never been to Twelve Oaks Mansion in Mars, PA before this past Saturday and it truly blew me away. What a GORGEOUS venue (and the ladies running the evening were absolutely amazing too!)
As their guests were lining up for the grand sparkler exit, Jonathan and Sydney shared one last dance in the gazebo!
Huge shout-out and thank you to the amazing team of vendors, as well as friends & family, who helped make Jonathan and Sydney’s wedding day absolutely perfect!
