Friday Evening Elopement at Evangelical Congregation Church in McKeesport, PA

Tracey waited in the back of the church as her guests began arriving. With less than 15 guests in attendance, they all easily fit in the vestibule. Introductions were made between Tracey’s family, John’s family, and the few friends who were there. Everyone was laughing and celebrating together. They were instantly one big family. Even if a person wasn’t blood-related, or maybe they hadn’t met anyone else in attendance prior to that moment, the bond of their love for John & Tracey instantly bound them together.

A few words of instruction were given by Pastor Irvin and then he asked everyone to take their seats. He smiled – it was if he understood that this ceremony was about so much more than the “production” of it all. It might not be perfect and he might have to help everyone through the steps of the ceremony, but it didn’t matter. More than things unfolding seamlessly, this evening was about Tracey & John, their love for each other, and their vows to continue that love until death parted them.

I’ve never been a part of such a small wedding before (a fact that Tracey & John were very excited about – they officially hold a “record” in my book). But it was wonderful. Completely laid back, overflowing with love, and entirely focused on the commitment the bride & the groom were making to one another.

John & Tracey – thank you so much for including me in your intimate gathering of friends & family on Friday night. I was so touched by the love your friends & family have for you and how beautiful simplicity is. Without all the usual “wedding frills”, nothing could shine brighter than the love you have for each other! I trust y’all are having the most amazing honeymoon in Punta Cana right now!

This image has easily and instantly made it’s way onto my list of top favorites of all time images! This is John’s Mom, and I simply cannot get over the love and happiness in both her & Tracey’s eyes!

Poor John – he was hidden away in the back as everyone was celebrating in the vestibule as they came in!

Tracey’s son James, stood at the altar as their witness and Best Man.

I’ve taken a few “everyone in attendance” photographs at weddings before, but this was by far the easiest to organize and the first that you can actually see every single person’s face.
