This month’s I Heart Faces theme is “Best of 2014” and it’s the most unfair category they could ever put together!!
It’s challenging enough to narrow down 185 of my favorite images [yep, that’s how many I had this year – 185 favorites, split up into three categories: portraits, engagements, & weddings], but to chose ONE? One image to sum up the whole year? Utterly impossible.
Does one chose a face brimming with happiness? How about a serious face – one that encompasses a lot of emotion? How about the anxious face of a bride before she walks down the aisle to see her groom on her wedding day? What about the loving faces that engaged couples have as they count down the days until they join their lives together? How about the faces of Grandparents with their grandchildren – who are obviously the light of their world? Or the faces of brand new babies who have just arrived on this planet & are still so fresh & new? What about the spontaneous faces – the ones you could never pose or ask for – but are so perfect they take your breath away?
Like I said: utterly impossible. Because each image is so important & so precious & leaves behind a story that makes every image the “best”.
