Let's get this party started!
The process of you sending me your video files may seem overwhelming, but I promise, it's actually very simple. I'm going to break down this entire process step-by-step and within just a few minutes, we'll be ready to roll!
You have found your way to this page of my website because you've received an email from me with THREE links.
The first link brought you here.
The second link is your personal upload link.
And the third link is your questionnaire.
Each of those links are explained & broken down in the following steps.
STEP ONE
Gather your videos together.
This might be as simple as knowing that all of your videos are on your phone.
Or, you might choose to download your videos onto your computer first.
Either way, especially if you have videos from multiple sources, or photos you want included in your film, pulling everything together in one place makes Step Two super quick & easy!
STEP TWO
Upload your videos.
I made a quick video (linked below) walking you through the uploading process.
Depending on your internet speed and how many videos you are uploading, the uploading process can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes, to a few hours.
My best advice is to drop all of your videos onto my server while you are brushing your teeth before bed, and then let them upload overnight! Go ahead & plug your phone in and adjust your settings so that your screen will remain "on" - this will ensure that your "energy saving mode" doesn't stop the process mid-upload.
STEP THREE
Fill in your questionnaire.
Once you can see that all of your files have uploaded, fill in the questionnaire I sent you (the third link).
It is important that you do not fill out the questionnaire until ALL of your files have uploaded. Submitting that finished questionnaire signals to me that ALL of your files have successfully uploaded and I can begin to work on your film!
Depending on how many files you are uploading to me, and from how many sources, you might upload them in "batches". For example: if you have videos on your phone, your spouse has videos on their phone, and you have photos from a DSLR camera, you will use the same upload link to send all of those files to me, but they willl come through in three separate "batches". That's totally fine! But I there's no way for me to know whether I have all of your files or not (and there's nothing worse than me thinking I have all of your files and beginning work on your film, when I'm missing things that I have to go back and fill in later.)
So, once everything is uploaded, from all sources, fill out that questionnaire and send it my way.
STEP THREE
Sit back, relax, and try to wait patiently.
I know - this is the hardest part, but everything is now in my hands! I will be downloading all of your files, sorting them into the correct order, culling through to find the very best moments, and piecing your film together!
Once everything is in my hands, it takes about 3-4 weeks for me to complete your film.
