There’s nothing like watching video clips back from a particular month and realizing just how STRONGLY certain themes run. And in the month of March, it’s OBVIOUS that our family was running very strongly on two recurring themes: Legos and Star Wars.
(We’ve been riding the Lego-theme for quite a while – and good news, it still holds strong and absolutely isn’t going anywhere! The Star Wars theme too – it’s been around for a while and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. In other words, I shouldn’t be surprised at these two themes – or that 80% of my video clips include one or both of these things!)
Keeping with one of our recurring “themes”:
We took our first trip of the year, by way of a HUGE surprise to the kids! We visited Legoland New York on their opening day and even though it was cold, we had the best time! • We Surprised Our Kids with Legoland NY Ope…
We did celebrate Easter at home, for ourselves, a week early (on Palm Sunday) because we were traveling over Easter weekend to visit some extended family. (I hate whenever major holiday events get split between two videos because of how they fall at the end/beginning of a month, but oh well.)
Moments of note this month:
(0:35) Leander’s “city” (aka collection of Legos)
(2:28) As if we needed more Legos (oops) we scored a HUGE bag of random Legos at the thrift store! They literally built with the Legos from this bag for 48 hours straight!
(3:03) My Mom and I went to see Steven Curtis Chapman play his Speechless tour! That was SO much fun!
(5:30) Some snow “ruined” spring
(6:20) A Narnia themed birthday party (in which everyone was requested to dress up)
(8:42) Braelynn’s first time at a roller skating rink!
(9:07) Easter at home
(11:37) Papa and Nana stopped by for a quick visit as they were traveling through
(12:29) Happy birthday to my Mom!
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our March looked like!
