HAPPY SUMMER!
July truly felt like summer – we set up the pool in the backyard, spent time at the Lake, traveled to ride roller coasters, and soaked up every single free second of time because school was smiling and waving at us from the end of the road.
We enjoyed multiple church events, lots of picnics, and tons of fun with friends. It flew by faster than you could blink.
Sadly, our end-of-the month came to kind of a screeching halt when both kids came down with terrible coughs and colds (and Braelynn even had pink eye). They’re STILL dealing with lingering symptoms – it’s crazy.
Moments of note this month:
(0:00) Our church picnic at home
(1:13) We spent the entire first week of July at the lake to attend VBS at my family’s church down there
(5:50) Kennywood’s Drone Show is always incredible and this year, we made the spontaneous decision to watch it from the water! What an amazing experience!
(8:14) The kids were SUPER into recording themselves creating tutorials for things this month – Braelynn made this sandwich video (on the heels of her brother’s sandwich video last month), they also did several drawing and craft tutorials (that were SO long – I’m going to put them in their own video)
(11:40) Time at Kennywood
Just in case you’ve missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is to be around 10 minutes) video of my favorite snippets. I am SO excited to finally have a dedicated place to chronicle my family videos & keep them safe & accessible.
Enjoy a little peek into what our July looked like!
