I know, I just wrote a whole post dedicated to Derrick – but I’m doing it again – because today is his birthday!
Dear Derrick,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I know a lot of people say that their “30’s” were the best years of their life and well, I think it definitely seems to be true for you. I’m so proud of you & all that you’ve accomplished over the last few years. You’ve pushed yourself to try new things, to learn new skills, and it’s so exciting to watch you pursue your dreams & passions! You seem to be “hitting your stride” & it’s absolutely fantastic to be a part of.
You are a wonderful, caring, thoughtful husband.
You are a sweet, loving, diligent Daddy.
You are a passionate, hard-working, dedicated entrepreneur.
You have big ideas, lofty dreams, and the growing gumption to get there.
I’ve now had the privilege of celebrating 11 birthdays with you. And I can officially say: you’ve changed. You are not the 20-something-year-old guy I met 11 years ago. You’d rather spend your time creating content for & working on your YouTube channel than playing video games (if you would have told me that I’d be making that statement when we were first married, I would have laughed at you). You’ve caught the entrepreneurial bug & it’s slowly infecting your entire life. You’ve always been a hard worker, but you work smarter now, with an end-goal in mind.
I love you and am so proud of you. But not just your accomplishments & your upcoming aspirations, I love the sweet, calmer, more level headed person you’ve become in your 30’s.I know that turning 30 a few years ago was a tough pill to swallow, but I think it’s been the best thing to ever happen to you.
I hope today is as wonderful as you are!
PS – if you’d like to give Derrick a little birthday present, it’s really easy to do so! Visit his Instagram account and his YouTube channel & subscribe to both – that will make his day!
[…] Derrick’s birthday was this week! And his birthday always seems to be the unofficial start of summer. We celebrated by going to Tuesday’s Together (see below). But really, we celebrated the day before his birthday with steak & cherry pie (per his request). And then the day after his birthday, we celebrated by going to Kennywood & riding some roller coasters. […]
