If you’re reading this & feeling a little deja vu, that’s because last Thursday I blogged about a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. And now here we are this Thursday, when I’m blogging about a trip to Great Wolf Lodge.
Now, before you write this post off as a duplicate, let me explain.
Our very last “hurrah” of 2020 was a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. It came as the “exclamation point” at the end of our last roller coaster riding trip of the year. We had visited Cedar Point & Kings Island, and then we drove less than a mile & spent our last vacation days of 2020 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio.
Our very first “hurrah” of 2021 was – you guessed it – a trip to Great Wolf Lodge! This time, we went to the one in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania & this time, we met the rest of the Abbey family there (Derrick’s parents & his brother’s family).
Even though we went to “the same place” – these trips were very very different & special in their own ways.
So, let’s talk about our first “adventuring” trip of 2021!
February always seems like the pinnacle of winter (and depression?). It’s been MONTHS since the last time we rode a roller coaster or went on an amusement park hopping trip & with months to go until anything opens back up (here in Pennsylvania, at least) it’s just a bleak, dark time.
Which is why it seemed like the PERFECT time to arrange a little SURPRISE for our kiddos! Not only did we wake them up at 6am to get in the car to go to an “unknown” location, but we stopped at the Outlets along the way to REALLY throw them off (but really: Derrick really did need new shoes).
Once we arrived – not only were they surprised to see that we were at Great Wolf Lodge but we DOUBLE SURPRISED them by pulling in behind Papa, Nana, Uncle Paul, Aunt Naomi, PJ, Alex, and Cameron (Braelynn’s cousin & BFF).
To say we had a wonderful two full days together would be an understatement – it was so surreal to be all together, swimming & splashing & sliding, while snow was falling outside almost the entire time.
The only problem is that it went by way too fast.
Enjoy a little sneak peak into our latest trip to Great Wolf Lodge.
