Three years ago, my youngest sister Ruby got a job at a newly opened coffee shop in Downtown Irwin called White Tree.
Little did we know what an anchor of not only the community, but our family White Tree would become.
White Tree is not just a coffee shop in a small town, but has become this beautiful community hub. Eric and Sarah run the coffee shop with all the friendliness and hospitality you’d expect as if you were walking into their own home. It’s such a fun, hopping place to be – with a calendar full of events and new coffees and treats rolling out every month.
Three years ago, we did a “ghost” photoshoot purely for fun. Ruby and a friend dressed up in random white sheets we found (in my Grandma’s basement) and we had so much fun, that we’ve always said we should do it again.
We ran out of time two years ago, and then last year at this time, my sister Ruby was just starting her chemo treatments (which, just a month ago she was recently declared “in remission”! YAY!) So, with the Halloween season rolling around for 2025, we said we HAVE to do the “ghost” photoshoot again – and last week, we made it happen.
Sometimes, as a photographer and creative person, you need to just do something for FUN. Something that’s out of your comfort zone and what you usually shoot – something to stretch you and push you to new levels. This photoshoot was exactly what I needed and we had SO MUCH FUN! Ruby and Anna were an absolute riot – we laughed so hard the entire time.
Enjoy some of the ghostie-goodness we created!
