I am so blessed, you guys. And if putting this post together doesn’t prove that fact, without the shadow of a doubt, I’m really not sure what will.
Let’s start at the beginning: I am a wedding photographer.
Weddings & couples-in-love are my absolute favorite things – they make me so excited! I LOVE being apart of wedding days!!
I haven’t always been just a wedding photographer though. When I first started exploring this avenue of “photography”, I did “everything”. I was hungry for the experience & to use my camera. So, anything anyone contacted me about, I said, “Yes!” to! I shot family sessions, did product photography, headshots, seniors, newborns, maternity, engagements – literally anything and everything. And as I did that, I realized that I really loved weddings more than anything else.
That being said, I’ve slowly backed away from “everything” and solely focused on weddings & engagements. However – that created a problem! What was I supposed to do with all the families (including the new families who’s weddings I was photographing) who wanted to keep seeing me year after year for updated family photos?
A few years ago, I stumbled on the answer. Even though I couldn’t keep scheduling busier and busier wedding seasons & sprinkling family sessions in whenever I wanted – I could advertise (just to my core group of existing clients) for a concentrated amount of time at the end of summer or beginning of fall that I would be available to family sessions. And that’s what I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s worked out marvelously.
So, a few weeks ago, I set aside 2 days for mini-sessions & I filled my days with catching up with some of my favorite people ever! Some of these families I’ve been photographing since they were just engaged, then photographed their wedding, and now I’m photographing them with their kids! Some of these families, I’ve been photographing (yearly) for 9 years. I’ve officially photographed most of these families through the biggest milestones of their lives!
Did I ever mention how blessed I am?
So anyway, I just wanted to show off my people. I consider each of these families my friends & I absolutely love each & every one of them. And if you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, most of these families will probably look familiar!
Just in case I wasn’t 100% clear: I am a wedding & engagement photographer. I only do family sessions for past clients and only during set times of the year. If you are looking for a family photographer for some updated family photos, I would love to recommend some of my amazing photographer friends to you!
