After 6 years, it was time.
Erica knew Chris was ready. They had talked a little bit about rings, talked about forever, knew that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together, even “window-shopped” for a diamond. Their “dating” story was quickly coming to it’s pinnacle.
Chris was excited. Proposal ideas were floating around his head – he would “try on” different scenarios, trying to foresee how Erica would respond & how he would feel. He wanted it to be perfect & memorable. Still mulling over different ideas, he thought if he actually had the diamond that he might be more inspired, so he went out & officially bought Erica’s ring.
However! Once it was in his hands, he couldn’t imagine spending another week preparing, or another day thinking about it – goodness gracious, he didn’t even want to wait another hour! So, without a thoroughly hatched out plan, he got in his car and started right over to Erica’s house. In the blink of an eye, he was at her house. He was walking through the front door. He had surprised Erica – she wasn’t expecting to see him. Then he was down on one knee, pulling out the diamond, and asking that life-altering question.
Of course Erica said yes, and overjoyed, she told Chris how surprised she was! Laughing along with her, Chris acknowledged that he was just as surprised as she was, but he simply couldn’t wait!
Last Saturday, Erica & Chris had the most lovely romantic and elegant wedding. And while the weather was predicting “storms all day”, we beat the odds & enjoyed beautiful sunshine!
Their day was packed full of beautiful details, romantic moments, and loving friends & family (as evidenced by the 200+ guests who not only attended the ceremony, but waited in a line that wrapped the entire way around the reception in order to dance with Erica during the money dance – I have literally never seen such a long line!)
Erica & Chris – thank you so much for inviting me along with you both on the adventure of your wedding day! I wish you all the best as you start down this path that is married life!
Erica got ready at her parent’s brand new house – literally the most incredible space I have ever photographed a bride getting ready in!
Erica’s Dad walked past while her dress was getting laced up & that smile on his face says it all (I think the glasses were a strategic maneuver on his part as well!)
After Mass at Our Lady of Grace, it was over to the University of Pittsburgh campus for photos!
Favorite!!
Every time Chris would look at Erica, he couldn’t help but smile! Adorable!
GAH – Erica! Can we just pause for a moment to talk about what an AMAZINGLY stunning bride you made? WOW!
The traditional Pennsylvania cookie table! Chris’s sister was almost entirely responsible for the baking of the 250+ dozen cookies! She did the most amazing job!
