After college, Alex got a job in Butler, Pennsylvania – a job and he decided to buy a house.
Little did he know, but that house would be the introduction chapter to the story of the rest of his life.
See, the gentleman who sold Alex his house was an older, bachelor guy, and since he was selling his house to a younger, bachelor guy – they struck up a friendship. Alex isn’t from the Butler area, so the house and the seller acted as an excellent introduction to the area and the people. And it just so happens – the older, house-selling guy is best friends with Emily’s parents.
In fact, shortly after buying the house and moving in, Alex met Emily’s parents – and her Mom told him: “You should really meet my daughter, Emily!”
Fast forward about a year and Alex did finally meet Emily. As it turns out, Emily’s parents, the older bachelor guy, and a bunch of their friends host a pig roast every year – it’s an annual tradition and everyone attends. So, obviously Emily was there, and the house-selling guy had invited Alex, so he was there too. He stuck out like a sore thumb – and not just because he’s super tall – but because most of the people gathered were older, and suddenly there was this much younger guy walking in.
Emily instantly noticed him and started asking around: “Who is that?” And finally, someone introduced the two of them: “Emily, this is Alex. Alex, this is Emily.”
And well, you could say the rest is history.
It turns out: they had actually matched on a dating app just a few weeks prior and Alex had messaged Emily – but she had never messaged him back. They laugh and simply say that they were meant to meet each other in person.
In other words, the moral of the story is: buy the house, strike up the unlikely friendships, and attend the annual pig roast with your parents and their friends – you never know what might happen!
This past Saturday, on an absolute EPIC day (I think it was the first official summer Saturday in 2025 without any rain! It’s been such a rainy wedding season!) Alex and Emily officially closed the chapter on “being engaged” and started writing the story of “being married”. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, and their beloved dog, Vinny (who absolutely stole the show), they promised their lives to one another. And thus their next adventure begins!
I had the immense honor of celebrating with Emily and Alex as their Wedding Content Creator (which simply means I got to tell the story of their day through videos and photos I took on my phone – all the raw, behind-the-scenes, unfiltered goodness of a wedding day!) but the BEST part was I got to work alongside one of my wedding-vendor-besties: Amanda! We had a blast the entire day – it was so much fun!
