Dutch Wonderland is a beautiful little hidden gem of a park in Lancaster, PA. This park is geared toward families and younger kids – but there are just enough thrills to keep older kids engaged as well. With multiple shows, a small waterpark, 3 roller coasters, and a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy, Dutch Wonderland is sure to delight anyone who walks through the castle gates to explore it!
It’s been 3 years since the last time we were at Dutch Wonderland – so we were overdue for a visit back! Last time we were there – Braelynn was just 4 years old and Leander was only a few months old! We had the best time the last time we were there, so we had high expectations for this visit (and it did not disappoint!)
Braelynn is now tall enough to ride every single ride and there were only a small handful of rides that Leander could not ride.
Having a small waterpark built into the back of this park is a fantastic feature, as it allowed us a break from the heat and gave us a way to cool off. (However, calling it a “waterpark” is a bit generous, it’s mostly an extra-large splash-pad – don’t get your hopes up for a lazy river or wave pool!)
Being a small park, you might think it would be easy to do everything in this park in one day – but don’t be deceived! This park is actually larger and has more to do than you think! With the different shows, the water park, and “Exploration Island” in the back of the park, we struggled fitting everything we wanted to do in before the park closed!
Speaking of which: whatever you do – when you visit Dutch Wonderland, DO NOT MISS Exploration Island! It’s tucked back in the corner of the park and can easily be missed, but it’s one of our favorite sections! That’s where the dinosaurs are!!
Of course, what is a post without photos? Here are a few of the highlights of our day both from my iPhone 12 Pro and “big” camera (I have a Canon R6).
