Dear Derrick,
You told me tonight that every dinner I’ve made so far this week has been good & should be put on the “make again” list.
HUGE accomplishment right there.
We’ve come so far since we got married 4 years ago – for example: the first married meal I made for you was a disaster. Like, those warnings that go off on the radio when a tornado is coming definitely should have been going off in my head – I have no idea what I was thinking. I mean, who screws up the very first meal they cook for their new husband?
You were scared, I know you were. You were probably looking for the quickest and quietest exit strategy – how do you get out of this marriage with this dud who just cooked the worst meal ever as her first official meal?
But since that first mishap – I have made a lot of winners and some losers too [although you remind me every once in a while that nothing is as bad as that first dinner]. Whenever I cook something new, I hold my breath to find out what you think, hoping I didn’t just make something to rival that very first meal.
I just wanted to say thank you for not running. Thanks for sticking around for dinner #2 & #3 & #1,474.
I think we’re winners [even if my cooking isn’t always the same].
Love, me.
