While Courtney was in college, she got a job at a local bar for some extra cash. As she started her new job, she was greeted by a sweet girl who introduced herself as the person who was going to train her. As she learned how to make drinks and work the bar scene, she was casually introduced to the girl’s brother, who stopped in for a drink every once in a while.
Courtney found this guy intriguing. Not only was he a bear of a man, but he wasn’t like every other guy who would come into the bar. He refused to hit on her or flirt with her. He would simply come in, she’d make him his favorite drink, he’d make small talk, and that would be it. A few years went by and the small talk became more and more familiar. They got to know each other a bit more and slowly became friends. Courtney became more and more interested in this bear of a man, who she was seeing as more of a teddy bear as the days went by. One night, completely on a whim, she got on his Facebook page and wrote him a message: “You’re really hot.” Intentions out in the open, he asked her out.
Their first date? A trip to New York City and a Yankee Game. They had a blast – even if Eddie scared Courtney half to death with his crazy city driving – he definitely fit right in with NYC drivers! She told him he was never allowed to drive again! But she couldn’t tear herself away: he was funny and engaging and sweet and could make her laugh. Before she knew it, she was head-over-heels for this teddy bear & that crazy date to NYC turned into 2 years worth of dates, and the rest is history.
When Courtney & I chatted through planning her & Eddie’s engagement session, she mentioned that she wanted to have a campfire & make s’mores. S’mores! Chocolate! Marshmallows! Graham crackers! A cozy, crackling fire! I instantly knew I loved these people – and they did not disappoint. Set on the backdrop of Roba Family Farms in Dalton, PA – a family tradition for Courtney’s family – I had the best time hanging out and laughing with Courtney & Eddie. They are the sweetest, most affectionate couple – utterly at ease with each other and easily each other’s best friend. I cannot wait for their wedding next fall!
Beautiful images! I love the “natural” feeling of the entire session. The s’mores and farm make a perfect background for an engagement session. Congratulations to the beautiful couple! I can’t wait to see their wedding photos.
