Colleen & Phillip met a little over a year ago, where so many millennials meet each other: online. Both found themselves casually curious about online dating, but completely content for it not to go anywhere. Besides, they both lived in a super small town where it felt like everyone already knew everyone else.
Phillip discovered Colleen’s profile & found her completely intriguing. He messaged her & they began to chat back & forth. They seemed to have so much in common, from their past experiences to the things they currently loved to do.
After messaging back & forth for a few weeks, Phillip asked Colleen if she would like to meet in person & go out for dinner. He was super up front with her though as he explained that he simply wanted to get to know her better & worse case scenario, “We’ll just be best friends forever.”
Feeling safe at how straight-forward he was, Colleen agreed & a simple dinner of Chinese turned into hours of talking. They instantly hit it off. Phillip made Colleen laugh like she hadn’t laughed in such a long time & as they were (finally) leaving the restaurant, Phillip asked if they could go out on a second date, and Colleen said yes.
We got together for their engagement pictures just a few weeks ago & while we were hoping for a warm spring day, we actually felt like we caught the tail end of winter! The cold hung on for so long this year, that even though we planned their session for mid-April, it was pretty chilly! Colleen & Phillips were champs though & you’d never know how cold it was (apart from the grey skies & non-blooming trees).
I met Colleen last summer when I photographed her sister’s wedding – so if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, she might seem a tiny bit familiar! Mike & Miranda’s wedding was so much fun & I absolutely cannot wait to see them & their families again this fall for Phillip & Colleen’s wedding!
