You’ll probably make fun of me for this, but that’s okay:
I just took down my “winter” decor today.
Goodbye snowmen and snowflakes and garland! Time for flowers and robins and bright colors!
Okay! Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system (I feel so much better for admitting that somewhere), I realized: I never blogged about the amazing watercolor portraits I had done for my wedding clients for Christmas last year!!
Apparently, I’m just behind with everything! Symptom of being a Mom I guess. I do have dinner in the crockpot! That I am on top of!
Ever since I started photographing weddings, I always tried to find little ways to give back and show my great appreciation to my brides & grooms. Let’s face it: there are literally thousands of wedding photographers out there that they could have chosen to photograph their wedding and instead they picked me! I am so so grateful and thankful for the amazing people who find me, connect with me, and want to have me around on their wedding days!! Y’all are the best!
Every year, I’ve done fun little things for my brides & grooms – let’s call them KAP Couples! That kind of has a fun ring to it! Maybe that’ll be my new hashtag: #KAPCouples! Whew, I’m all over the place today! One year I mailed my KAP Couples popcorn & gift cards to go rent a Redbox for a date night! That was fun! Who wouldn’t love to receive that in the mail? The next year I had metal ornaments made for my KAP Couples to memorialize their first Christmas together has husband and wife!
I feel like, after we work so long & so closely together toward the big end goal of their wedding day (initial emails back & forth, phone calls, coffee together, engagement photos, texts, timelines, details, the big day!) that we’re friends & friends deserve presents! And I’m one of those gift givers that has to find the absolute perfect gift – even if it takes weeks of hunting it down!
And last year was the best so far! I had custom watercolor portraits done for each of my KAP Couples by a local aspiring artist (I actually did her senior photos yesterday! Just wait until you see those!) I gave her my favorite “traditional” portrait of each of my KAP Couples and she did a watercolor for me of each one! They turned out amazing & I absolutely fell in love with them!
Just seeing them again gets me so excited for this year! WOOP! Look out 2016 KAP Couples! This year is going to be epic!
We absolutely LOVE our watercolor painting! Such a unique and thoughtful gift 🙂
