I think one of the best things about being a wedding photographer are the relationships I gain from working so closely with & getting to know my brides & grooms! There aren’t many professions that can boast friendships like I’ve gained by being a wedding photographer! I love when my brides & grooms keep up with me by sending me little notes, commenting on my Facebook & Instagram posts, and letting me know what’s going on in their lives!
So, it’s no surprise that I was beyond excited when I found out that Charlie & Kayla were expecting a little babe of their own! I couldn’t wait to get back up to Vestal to meet up with them, catch up, and see Kayla’s little baby bump!!
We had planned to start at their house and then head over to Otsiningo Park which is exactly what we did for their engagement photos, so we could have fun in re-creating some of those original images! Of course, the weather had other ideas and the morning of our shoot dawned gray and rainy! Maternity photos are best done about a month before the baby is due, so we decided to forge forward no matter what! I am so grateful for Charlie & Kayla’s sense of adventure as they followed me out into the rain for some photos! Thankfully, their amazing big backyard has some perfect trees to hide under & we were able to avoid getting completely soaked that way! So, we ended up staying at the house the whole time, but I love love how the photos turned out – they just have a more cozy, homey feel!
Charlie & Kayla’s little baby girl is due in just a few weeks – I can’t wait to hear that she’s arrived!!
Remember how I said we were going to re-create some original engagement photos? I love how this one turned out! I think Kayla’s wearing the exact same outfit – down to the same shoes!
Then it was inside to change clothes & get out of the rain! Notice the awesome collage of photos in their living room – I took all of those! It makes my heart so happy to see my photos printed and displayed in my KAP Couples’ homes!!
I love little baby girl’s gray & purple nursery!
Then we snuck back outside, dodging the raindrops, for a few more photos!
See? You’d probably never even know that it was raining from the images! So, we had to take a few with an umbrella, just to remember what the day was like!
Then it was around to the front of the house to recreate a wedding day photo! I told Charlie & Kayla that they’re never allowed to move, and if they do, they have to take their front porch with them!
Look at that ADORABLE baby bump Kayla has!! SO ADORABLE!
