This past Saturday, Casey & Andrew finally got married.
You might think I say “finally” because – maybe they’ve been engaged a long time or maybe COVID rescheduled their plans – (and while Casey & Andrew have been engaged a long time) there’s so much more to the story than that.
Casey & Andrew met each other in high school. In fact, they went to their senior prom together (did you hear my let out a romantic sigh just now?) They didn’t “officially” date thru high school (that would come a few years later), but that’s where their story begins.
Fast forward 2-3 years to New Year’s Eve 2015 (welcoming in 2016).
Andrew took Casey to dinner up on Mount Washington & then they made their way to one of the overlooks. It was utterly freezing out – but Andrew forged forward with his plans.
He got down on one knee & Casey was beyond shocked. In fact, between the mix of the extreme cold & the huge surprise, Andrew’s proposal is simply a blur in her mind.
Andrew had asked Casey’s parents for their permission to propose & so Casey’s Mom called her right away. Everyone was just ecstatic.
Casey & Andrew spent the evening up on Mount Washington – watching the fireworks over the city & ringing in the new year – it was an epic night.
Tragically, in 2017, both of Casey’s parents passed away. And all wedding planning (that they were still in the very early stages of) came to a screeching halt.
A few years passed.
Finally, Andrew’s Mom sat down with Casey & Andrew & said: “We love you, we support you, we will do anything for you – now, it’s time to get married.” And it was just what Casey & Andrew needed to pick back up & plan their wedding.
And this past Saturday was the big day!!
It was incredible – full to the brim with laughter & joy & love & emotion. Everything went smoothly, the rain held off, and before we knew it, the DJ was playing the last song of the night. (I’m telling you: wedding days only have one speed: light-speed.)
Andrew & Casey – you both have been an absolutely joy to get to know & work with!! Your relationship, both your friendship & love for one another, has such deep roots – it was delightful to watch all day Saturday. Your friends & family obviously adore you all (clear from the endless happy tears & the bottomless whoops of joy) and it’s quite easy to see why. Thank you for being so amazing – I wish you all the luck in the world!
Andrew was absolutely thrilled with himself that he could play some Xbox on his wedding day!
Casey wanted to do a First Look with her bridesmaids & the moment was so emotional – even I was crying!!
I loved that Casey & Andrew exchanged gifts & love notes to one another before their ceremony – and the gifts they gave were so full of meaning!! Casey gave Andrew a Lego bride & groom & Andrew gave Casey a leather bag he made by hand himself!
A champagne pop!! Andrew did such a good job!!
Casey has the absolute BEST laugh – and she laughed all day long! It was infectious!!
Since Casey & Andrew went to prom together, we absolutely had to recreate their awkward prom photo!! They’re so much cuter (and less awkward) this time around!
You know I couldn’t resist using those Lego people for a ring shot!!
AND – just in case you’re curious: Andrew wins the award for the best garter removal ever!! He has been serving as a volunteer fireman since he was 14 years old, and unknown to Casey, he brought some of his gear to surprise her! It was absolutely epic!
Originally, Casey & Andrew had thought maybe they would do a sparkler exit at the end of the night, but ultimately they decided that putting fire in the hands of their guests (who had been drinking heavily) was just a bit too risky. I assured them that we’d still do something epic to end the evening & I am just obsessed with their night portraits!
Huge shout-out and thank you to the amazing team of vendors, as well as friends & family, who helped make Casey & Andrew’s wedding day absolutely perfect!
