We love Busch Gardens Williamsburg – the park is absolutely beautiful, the rides are top-notch, and you simply cannot go wrong with the food!
The park is magnificently landscaped and with all of the trees, even on super hot days, the park seems cooler simply because of all the shade.
The shows are mind-blowingly good (our kids are still tap-dancing after watching the Celtic Fyre show in Ireland!)
The line-up of roller coasters: Pantheon, Verbolten, Alpengeist, Apollo’s Chariot, Griffon, InvadR, Loch Ness Monster, Tempesto (and coming soon, DarKoaster!) is stellar! We just want to marathon Pantheon, Verbolten, and Alpengeist all day long.
And the food? The food is knock-your-socks-off amazing. This isn’t your typical “theme park food” – this is “I’ve been dreaming of you for weeks” food!
We LOVE Busch Gardens Williamsburg!
++ But this is very important! If you are going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and there are fireworks on the day you go HERE’S THE SCOOP!
WHERE TO WATCH THE FIREWORKS:
– If you are going to stand on the bridge that connects Italy and Germany, stand as close to Italy as you can. This bridge is a very popular place for people to stand, HOWEVER, if you stand at the half-way point between Italy and Germany, or any closer to Germany, all of the fireworks will be behind the trees.
This is where we stood! We didn’t know any better! We asked a few park employees and 95% of them told us that the bridge between Italy and Germany was the best place to stand.
And, in all fairness, it probably is a great place to stand – but you need to stand as close to Italy as possible.
– We were told by one person that the best place to watch the fireworks was up on Pantheon’s bridge – and after watching the fireworks and seeing them go off BEHIND Verbolten (they do not go off over the river, like we and everyone else seemed to assume), this does seem like the more likely BETTER place to watch the fireworks! We can’t say for certain, because we were standing on the bridge, watching the fireworks through the trees (talk about a huge disappointment!), but the bridge up in Italy that you walk over to get to Pantheon does seem like it would have been a better spot.
Needless to say, next time we visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg (and we’ll be back next summer when they open their brand new roller coaster!) we will be watching the fireworks from the Pantheon bridge (and we’ll report back!)
Of course, what is a post without photos? Here are a few of the highlights of our day both from my iPhone 12 Pro and “big” camera (I have a Canon R6).
