Last week, our sweet little girl turned SEVEN years old!
I’m not sure why, but for some reason, 7 seems SO much older & more grown up than 6.
I mean, under normal circumstances: a birthday arrives & people ask, “Well, do you FEEL older?” and the answer is no, we always feel exactly the same. But for some reason, there seems to have been a magical line that was crossed from 6-to-7 and suddenly Braelynn FEELS so much older!
(*cue all the emotions for Mama*)
We did our absolute best to make sure our 7 year old had a wonderful birthday week – lots of presents, all of her favorite foods, dinner at the restaurant of her choice, and as a grand finale: a big My Little Pony themed birthday party.
Braelynn even designed her own cake! She was very specific: she wanted a chocolate & vanilla round cake, with rainbow stripes on the side – purple icing on the very top – and her ponies around the edge. Thankfully, Auntie Ruby is a cake-extraordinaire & was able to pull off the PERFECT cake!! It was almost too pretty to cut into & eat (but don’t worry, we did – and it was delicious!)
Braelynn was overwhelmed with piles of gifts & surrounded all evening by her family that loves her so much – but the cherry on top was her cousin (& BFF) Cameron coming to spend the weekend with her as well.
Except for her baby brother attempting to blow out her birthday candles – it was the perfect night.
If you’d like to look back at past Braelynn-Birthday-Parties, here are the posts I’ve written (apparently, I’ve really slacked off some years!)

You know I can no longer just take photos – so click below to watch Braelynn’s 7th birthday FILM!
But, I still took photos too.
I seriously cannot decide which format I love more! This will likely be a debate that I have for the rest of my life.
This picture – it just melts my Mama-heart!
As SOON as we started singing, Leander came over & started trying to blow out the candles!! Derrick literally strong-armed him out of the way so Braelynn could blow out her candles solo – unfortunately, in doing so, I looked down at Leander & completely missed seeing Braelynn blow out her candles!
My sister caught it all on video – it is equal parts hilarious & sad (on my part).
Happy 7th birthday, to our sweet Braelynn Fiona!!
