Amy & Dan | Spring Engagement Session at the Tufa Bridge in Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, PA

When you go to college for “bridge engineering”, there really is only one place you can end up with that type of career – Pittsburgh – “The City of Bridges”.
(I know, I know – there are bridges everywhere and bridge engineers can work anywhere in the world – but doesn’t Pittsburgh just make the most sense?)

After graduating from college and moving to Pittsburgh, Dan decided to give online dating a try. He wanted to meet people and saw that as a great opportunity to do so.
Thankfully, it wasn’t long before he met Amy.

Amy is a teacher. She teaches at a school for deaf students in Pittsburgh, so after college graduation, she found herself moving downtown.

Just three days after she moved, she met Dan.
She laughs that she only lived in the city for two days without knowing Dan, but they were the “worst” two days of her life.

They chatted online for a short period of time and really seemed to hit it off, so they decided to officially meet in person for coffee.
And well, you can say that the rest is history!

The circumstances that brought Dan and Amy and I together are interesting – they had actually booked their wedding photography with friends of mine (another local photographer), but when that photographer found out she was pregnant and due in July, she had to (sadly) find replacement photographers for a handful of her weddings. Which is how I met Dan and Amy!

We were only supposed to get together and do a “mini” engagement session – after all, they’d had a “regular” engagement session done with my friend last fall – but 30-minutes quickly turned into a “regular” engagement session – oops! I guess that’s what happens when you put two adorable, happy, in-love people in an epic location – I just can’t help myself!

We combined Amy and Dan’s love of hiking and the outdoors with Dan’s love of bridges and I think we found the PERFET spot for their engagement session! I’ve wanted to explore down around the Tufa Bridge in Schenley Park forever and I finally got my chance a few weeks ago!
