I hardly ever get the privilege of shooting little babes – and in the space of 2 weeks, I photographed TWO precious little ones! And the icing on the cake was that they were both little girls! The last few newborns I have photographed have all been boys – so it was so much fun to pull out the bows and tulle and fairy wings and flowers and crowns and be all girly! It was literally, the highlight of my fall season.
Meet Miss Alyona – isn’t her name simply delightful? It’s Russian and it means “light” – how precious is that? Aly was a little older than a typical “newborn” – at 3 weeks old, she was beginning to become more aware, less sleepy, and loosing a bit of that newborn look! I know! How does it fade so fast?! She was such a trooper for us though and did so well! Including having the world’s largest blow-out right in the middle of our session! I think her Mama was utterly horrified, but I just laughed because that is so normal with little babies, and after having one of my own, a little poop doesn’t scare me at all!
We got together at a friend of her Mama’s house and it literally looked straight out of a magazine and smelled like you’d just walked into a small-town craft store. There were so many little nooks & fun spots to shoot, plus we grabbed items around the house to use as props! It was an absolutely perfect & relaxing spot!
Aren’t Alyona’s Mama & Daddy so sweet? They were so so cute!!
