Highlight of the Week
This past week has been the Just Between Friends Sale at the Monroeville Convention Center. It’s a semi-annual kids consignment sale & it’s something I get so excited for every 6 months – but especially this time around since I was shopping for Christmas & baby boy things!! It was so surreal & thrilling to walk around, look at all the baby gear & newborn things, and think about how in just a few short months – we’ll have a new little baby of our own!! Needless to say, I spent more money than I’ve ever spent at the sale, but it’s mostly because I bought several big items that I have never needed before (a double stroller, a rock-n-play, and a video monitor system). What’s really awesome to realize though, is not only did I buy those “big” items, but I also got tons of baby boy onesies, sleepers, socks, shoes, swaddles, and outfits (as well as all of Braelynn’s snow gear for this winter – a coat, snow pants, and snow boots) plus most of Braelynn & baby boy’s Christmas gifts (and a few maternity items for me) – AND in total I paid about what I would have paid for that double stroller brand new. Did that make sense? My entire haul at the JBF sale, cost me about what I would have paid for one of the items I bought, if I had bought it brand new. If that fact alone doesn’t make the sale completely worth it, I don’t know what does! (I also took items of my own to sell and it looks like I’ll make about half of what I spent back – so that’s even better!)
Yes, This Happened
- I am now 23 weeks pregnant & baby boy is the size of a “large” mango.
- Baby boy is definitely an active little stinker!! I can almost constantly feel him squirming around, but whenever I lay down, I feel like he goes crazy! I’ve been trying to get Derrick to feel his little punches & kicks, but so far, nothing yet.
- It was my favorite day of the month this past week! Our little Tuesday’s Together group met on Tuesday evening & we talked all about branding. As always, I left so inspired with so many new ideas floating around my brain! (If you’re a creative entrepreneur person, you should either find a Tuesday’s Together near you or come join us! We have so much fun!)
- We finally finished watching the last of the Harry Potter movies last night! I have finally officially read all of the books & watched all of the movies (spoiler alert: the books are infinitely better). I feel so educated.
Feeling Blessed
I’m off to shoot a wedding today (I think the rain that has been chasing me all wedding season is finally going to catch up with me today!) and then we enter “vacation” mode!! Omigoodness, I’m so excited! Braelynn and I have spent some extended time away this summer down at the Lake House, but it doesn’t quite feel like a vacation without Derrick being there too. So, I’m totally pumped for this coming weekend & next week when we get to spend some time away together as a family of 3! Our last little hurrah before baby boy comes along to make us a family of 4! I cannot wait!
