Highlight of the Week
As if Leander army-crawling all around the house isn’t enough (he’s gotten super fast too – you will literally blink & he’ll be on the other side of the room – probably getting into something he shouldn’t) he officially pulled himself up to his knees, and then onto his feet this week! Of course, he decided to use the most unsecure shelf in our entire house to do so (it’s this corner-shelf that was in our hallway upstairs – it’s so wobbly), needless to say – that shelf has now found a new home in the attic. I literally got all emotional watching him pop his chubby little hands up on the shelf & hoist himself up – he was so proud of himself! He just grinned & cooed – slow down little boy – no need to grow up so fast! (Speaking of which, he is officially 8 months old today – how is that even possible?!)
Yes, This Happened
- So, I am continuing the “pool” series! I’ve taken a handful of Abby’s Saturday photos based around the kiddie pools we’ve had & so of course we had to continue the “trend”! We got a bigger pool this year (last year’s pool was so tiny!) If you want to go back & see the progression, start here: Two hundred and eight Two hundred and two One hundred and fifty-three
- We went out to dinner one night this week & as we were eating our food, Braelynn turned to me & said, “Mommy, can I have a lap cover too?” I was confused, not sure what she was asking for, so I asked her to repeat herself. She pointed to the napkin on my lap & said, “A lap cover – I want one too!”
- I’m not even sure how it happened, but it’s already August somehow? And that means the gigantic “Just Between Friends” kids consignment sale that happens twice a year in Monroeville, PA is right around the corner! I pulled all the clothes I had set aside for this fall/winter sale down from the 3rd floor & now have to go thru the process of sorting, washing, hanging, & tagging everything. Consigning at the sale is always a ton of work, but it’s always well worth it! I typically make about the same amount that I spend, so I see it as basically just trading out old/small things for new/bigger things! Plus, I love to find good Christmas & birthday gifts at this sale too – it’s such a fun time!
- We participated in one of our local library’s summer reading programs this summer & on Wednesday was their big, blow-out, end-of-summer-reading-program party. I knew there would be a good crowd there, but I was completely unprepared for the hundreds of kids. It was insane! They put on such a good event though! Prizes, games, crafts, food, a DJ, bouncy houses, face painting – the works! Braelynn had such a fun time – I originally thought that we’d only be there for maybe an hour or so, but we ended up staying more than 2 hours & she still wanted to stay longer!
Feeling Blessed
So, we’re off on another roller coaster riding adventure this weekend & into next week!! Whereas the trip we took a few weeks ago was covering some “old” territory for Derrick (he’d already been to 2 of the 4 parks we visited previously) – this is all new territory! Not only are we visiting states that I personally have never ever been to, but we’re visiting 3 brand new parks (2 of which have water parks attached to them)! Braelynn is super pumped for new rides & waterslides – it’s just seems like the perfect way to say that summer is not yet over!!
