- Welcome to one of the toughest weeks of the year – and no, I’m not talking about the election – I’m talking about being a parent & surviving thru the change that is Daylight Savings Time. We changed the clocks back last weekend & so instead of waking up every morning around 6:30am, Braelynn has been waking up at 5:30am. Our evenings feel incredibly long because it now is dark so early – basically our internal clocks are just all screwed up & it’s been rough. I’m exhausted.
I always remember loving this time change – because it meant getting an extra hour of sleep. My kids will get to that point (of loving sleep) eventually, right? - Speaking of the kids: we watched the Sonic the Hedgehog movie last night & Braelynn was so enamored with the character that she buzzed all over the house – running as fast as she could go.
Then, she asked us to call her Sonic.
And then, she declared that when she grew up and got married, that she wanted her last name to be “Sonic” – “So my name will be Braelynn Fiona Sonic.” She’s just hilarious. - Other than the time change – it has been a gorgeous week! It’s been sunny & warm every day (and feels more like late September than the beginning of November). We’ve been soaking up as much outside-time as we can – we had a picnic at the park, we played in the leaves at my parents’ house, and spent many hours running around our own backyard. I like these fall-days.
- Last weekend I photographed a gorgeous Halloween wedding & today I’m off to photograph another amazing wedding! And today is extra special because I get to bring a whole team of people with me! Ellen is coming with me as my second shooter (so, you know the day is going to be amazing). Derrick is coming as the videographer (cross your fingers for him! this is only the second wedding he’s videoed & he’s pretty nervous!). AND, my brother Steve is coming to the ceremony to run a live-stream for the bride & groom since some of their guests aren’t able to come due to the pandemic-stuff. It is going to be a great day!!
- The other HUGE news of the week was that there was finally a Just Between Friends consignment sale in Monroeville!! This is a massive kids consignment sale that I go to (and sell items at) twice a year – unfortunately, the spring sale got canceled (I wonder why?) and the fall sale has been massively post-poned (it typically happens in August). They finally got the approval to make the sale happen though & so it was this week!! I must admit: waking up Wednesday morning was like waking up on Christmas for me – I was so insanely excited to go shop!! I love thrifting, and this is like thrifting on steroids. You just never know what you’re going to find & I love the hunt! I found some amazing deals on stuff for the kids – winter gear they needed, Christmas outfits, and lots of birthday & Christmas gifts!! It was SO HARD to come home & stash it all away – I wanted to just give them everything I bought right then & there. Is it Christmas yet?!
