- Well, the door to my pantry cupboard fell off the hinges this week – 100% without warning & totally random. So, that’s fun.
- See the flowers Abby is standing in front of? We planted those from seeds we harvested from seeds we planted last year! I know it’s probably silly (it’s how nature works after all) but it makes me SO happy to know that we didn’t pay anything & got all of these gorgeous flowers – simply because we saved the seeds last year!! (And yes, if you look closely, you’ll realize that some Marigold seeds snuck into my Zinnia seeds – oops!)
- Leander has finally given Braelynn a name – it’s a monumentous milestone! He has said “Mama” & “Dada” forever. He says “Abba” (for Abby) & “Nana” & “Papa” & “Ee-yah” (for Alethea), “Grandma”, “Grandpa”, and “Emma” (which he calls both my sister Amy & Emma the same “Emma”-sounding name). But, he has never called Braelynn anything! Until this week! We finally got him to say “Bray”. So, Braelynn officially has a name for Leander to say. WHEW. I was worried we might never get there.
- I published a vlog about Derrick & I’s trip to Cedar Point a few weeks ago! Go check it out!
- Derrick & I shot our first 2020 wedding together this past weekend! It was a perfectly wonderful day – click here to see all the highlights of the beautiful wedding! The wedding was held back where we used to live, so, SHHHH don’t tell anyone that we photographed it up there! I’m trying so hard not to book more weddings in the Twin Tiers.
- I mention that – because after the wedding on Saturday, we spent the day Sunday with Derrick’s family, and then came home Monday. Well, Monday, we both got sick. I woke up with a wicked migraine & Derrick just felt “off” all day (thankfully, not too “off” that he couldn’t drive us the 5-hours to get back home). Before you begin to panic – we really don’t think we had the Corona – but, who knows? If we did, we had the mildest case possible. Okay, anyways – Tuesday: Derrick got up & went to work, but came home after just a few hours. We both had – let’s say: “digestive issues” Tuesday & still felt kinda icky. By Wednesday though – we were both feeling more normal. Maybe we both ate something bad? I really don’t know & can’t quite pinpoint what the source of it was.
- Since I wasn’t feeling the greatest – I did my best to just chill on the couch (especially Monday night after my migraine started to subside). Leander, being the super sweet boy that is he, came over & climbed up to snuggle with me – then he proceeded to cover my whole entire face with kisses! Big, fat, juicy smooches!! Omigoodness – I’m not sure if there is anything better than that.
[…] I have a black thumb – I am absolutely horrible at growing pretty much everything. With one exception: zinnias.Zinnias must be the most hardy plant on the planet, because for some reason, I can grow them!I discovered this incredible fact when we were about 2 years into being married. I didn’t even know what Zinnias were, but I picked up a packet of “Zinnia seeds” at the store to plant in this bare flower bed outside of our first house, and lo and behold: they grew! I harvested seeds off of those very first flowers and have turned them over every single year since then – including transporting them across the state when we moved. So, this year was no exception! We planted our Zinnias in the back flower bed and they’ve grown up beautifully!(If you’re thinking, hmmm, this Abbys Saturday looks a bit familiar, I did take a similar version of this same photo two years ago!)
