- This week, Brealynn figured out she could jump OVER Abby. I’m not even sure what made her do it, but one day, she came running from the dining room into the living room and Abby was standing in her way – so she just vaulted over her. She was so impressed with herself, that she did it over and over again (thus inspiring this week’s photo). I’m actually super impressed by how high she can jump!
- Speaking of Braelynn – she officially has another loose tooth! I’m not sure if it’s loose because she’s forced it to be loose (she’s been wiggling teeth for month, ever since she lost her first four teeth right in a row!) or if it’s loose because it’s ready to fall out. Regardless – she’s already ramping up for a visit from the tooth fairy & making plans for what she’s going to do with her money.
- Whenever we are home (which happens more regularly in the winter months than any other time), we do homemade pizza & a movie on Sunday nights. We make different kinds of pizza and then sit on the couch & watch a movie together while eating dinner. It’s fun! And really awesome to have something simple to look forward to as a family (like our tradition of pancakes on Saturday morning).
We were home this past weekend (more on why in a moment), so we made pizza & watched the new PAW Patrol movie!! Braelynn has been obsessed with the PAW Patrol forever (her 5th birthday party was PAW Patrol themed). Leander will watch PAW Patrol, but he’s not as obsessed with it as Braelynn ever was. Well, we watched the new movie (which is super cute) & suddenly everyone is obsessed with PAW Patrol! It reinvigorated Braelynn’s love and Leander got into it too! They’ve watched the movie a few more times this week & spent hours playing with our PAW Patrol toys. It’s been a ton of fun. - So, we were home last weekend for two reasons: one – so I could shop the half-price portion of the Just Between Friends sale in Monroeville and pick up my unsold items Sunday and two – so we could spend Saturday at Kennywood with a group of coaster enthusiasts we are friends with. It was such a fun time (none of them had ever been to Kennywood before!)
- I found myself at my wit’s end with Braelynn’s stuffed animal “collection” this week – she just has SO MANY STUFFED ANIMALS. So, I pulled the plug & ordered this from Amazon in an attempt to keep them altogether & cleaned up. I’m happy to report: it’s actually worked really well. It’s so easy for her to open up if she wants a particular stuffed animal and equally easy to zip back closed when she’s done.
- I walked around the corner (from the dining room, into the kitchen) one morning this week & found Leander – who had opened the silverware drawer & gotten a butter knife out – standing on his tip-toes and reaching with the knife to scoop pieces of butter off the butter-dish. I walked in just as he was putting a scoop of butter into his mouth & he looked at me & said, “Ohhhh – YUM! Good, Mom, good!”
- We had my sister & Alethea & Layla over this week to play in the backyard & swim in our kiddie pool (which is officially on it’s last legs – we’ve had it for a few years & suddenly it’s cracking & starting to fall apart). The 4 cousins play so good together & love each other so much, it’s just so much fun.
- Otherwise, my week has been filled with tons and tons of editing!! Staying up late, waking up early – trying to get caught up & on top of everything – September is right around the corner & that means fall sessions & weddings (always my busiest time of year).
