- Well – it’s September and I’m not sure how that happened.
- Last weekend, we went away on what was (possibly) our last roller coaster riding trip of 2021. It’s always a sad day when amusement parks begin to peel back their operating days – to be only open on weekends, with their last day of regular season operation looming right around the corner.
Enough depressing talk – we went to Cedar Point last weekend & we did the whole thing. Up to this point, the most consecutive time we’ve spent at Cedar Point is a day & a half – but this time, we spent 3 whole days there. Another “first” – we stayed on the island – on Cedar Point property! We’ve gone & stayed at their indoor waterpark before, but this time we stayed just a short walking distances from the park.
And it ruined us. We will never be able to go to Cedar Point again and stay anywhere else – it’s just that good & convenient & fun.
I will have a whole vlog & post about our trip, but in a nutshell: we arrived Sunday at park opening, we stayed at Lighthouse Point in one of their cabins, and we spent 3 full days at the water park, Cedar Point, and the beach. (And, newsflash, we still did not have enough time to do everything.)
The highlight of the trip was that Braelynn measured at 48″ exactly & was able to ride 7 new roller coasters – including the massive Millennium Force (it’s over 300′ tall). We had such a fun trip & it was over way too soon. - I officially announced my fall mini sessions here in Irwin, PA this week! My fall calendar is absolutely packed with weddings & engagement sessions, and scheduling a day of mini sessions is simply the most efficient way for me to do family portraits for my past clients! If you want in – there are still a few spots left! Go read up on all of the details HERE.
- We came home from Cedar Point & the leftovers of Hurricane Ida kept us inside all day on Wednesday. The rain worked it’s magic to really cool things down & Thursday & Friday were perfect days – sunshiney, but not too hot! The kids spent both days outside & discovered that we have baby bunnies in our yard! Actually, Abby discovered them – she was sniffing around under our swingset & suddenly she got super excited – punctuated by little “screams”. We moved in to investigate & found the babies! They are actually pretty big – probably just a few days away from being ready to leave the nest!
So, over the last 2 days, we’ve watched & marveled at them constantly. Leander just kept saying: “Awwww, baby bunnies! They’re sleeping.” It’s adorable. - It’s just really funny because last week, we had a baby squirrel on our porch that Abby discovered! And this week, it’s baby bunnies – what will next week bring?
- It’s Labor Day weekend – the “unofficial” end of summer (boo). I hope everyone has some fun & relaxing things planned!!
