- This week has flown by in a blur. Probably because the week “started” on Tuesday and ended on Thursday. I’ll explain:
Last weekend, we traveled to Kings Island on Saturday & then Kentucky Kingdom on Sunday – and we drove home on Monday (hence, our week not really “starting” until Tuesday). I’ll talk more about why we were specifically at those two parks in a moment.
Yesterday was a wedding day! I had a big long Friday wedding, which meant that I had to do all of my “typical” wedding week prep one day earlier than usual – which was SUPER weird. I rarely shoot Friday weddings – I’m more likely to shoot a Sunday wedding than a Friday one! So, that just meant that my week technically ended on Thursday.
See why this past week was a blur? - I have A LOT to say about last weekend’s trip to Kings Island – but mostly our day at Kentucky Kingdom. We went there for Keys to the Kingdom, which is an event specifically for roller coaster enthusiasts. The most exciting part of the day was that Derrick was a part of a “panel” of coaster “influencers” – they sat up on stage & took questions from the audience & talked about their experiences & preferences & stories from riding roller coasters. It was amazing – SUCH a cool experience for Derrick to be recognized as an “influencer” & a person of note in the “coaster community” – it’s insane how many people saw him in the park & recognized him, how many people came to see & talk specifically to him during & after the panel – just so so cool.
I have a lot more to say about the day & our weekend, but I’m going to save the rest of my thoughts for when I write my re-cap post (so, stay tuned!) - It’s just been a HUGE week all-around for Derrick. While we were away last weekend, he hit TEN THOUSAND subscribers on his YouTube channel!! 10,000 – I know in YouTube land, that number isn’t all that huge, but it really is a BIG deal & a huge stepping stone for him!
- ALSO – yesterday was Derrick’s birthday. I hardly saw him yesterday – but don’t you worry, we’re off celebrating properly this weekend (and if you think we’re doing something other than riding roller coasters, you’d be incorrect).
