- Last year, D’Artagnan (my sister’s pup) made a special appearance on an Abby’s Saturday post & I figured: let’s make it a yearly thing! So, since we spent a few extra days at the Lake House together this week, it was the perfect time to snag these two pups together again! (if you’d like to hop back & see Abby & D’Artagnan last year, you can see that post here!)
- So yes! We spent several extra days at the Lake House this week. I had the privilege of capturing family photos for a sweet family who comes to the Lake every year on Sunday evening – it was so much fun! There’s just something extra fun about photographing families who are on vacation at one of their favorite places!
- Unfortunately, the weather while we were away wasn’t the best. It wasn’t horrible, but it did rain every day. It also wasn’t quite warm enough to go swimming either – so we just went on lots of long walks and played in the yard & sandbox. Like I always say: a rainy day at the Lake is better than a sunny day at home! It was still wonderful to be away!!
- So, this Wednesday should have been the Norwin Community Picnic at Idlewild Park & Soakzone. However, since COVID-19 has turned our world upside down, the annual community gathering had to be canceled. Well, I guess not exactly “canceled”, but “re-vamped”. Instead of gathering several thousand people together at Idlewild for a day of rides & fun & prizes, they simply did a few “virtual” activities & a Facebook Life prize drawing. It just wasn’t the same.
Of course – Wednesday dawned absolutely perfect. It would have been the most amazing day at Idlewild: not too hot, but sunny & warm. I know there was no picnic, but all day I felt like I was missing out on something. We watched my Dad pull names on our TV (of course, none of us won anything) and it just wasn’t the same. Next year, we better be back to normal – I missed going to Idlewild!! - Speaking of amusement parks – I wrote about our experiences of going to 7 different amusement parks (in 5 different states) over the last few weeks. Did you catch it?
- Today is my first wedding of the year! Oh, wait – that’s not true. I did photograph a wedding back in June! However, it literally feels like it’s been a whole year since Molly & Justin’s wedding. And since it’s been such a long time since that wedding – it feels like today is the actual start of my wedding season (and that wedding in June feels like an off-season wedding). Either way – today is Meghan & Justin‘s wedding & I am SO excited!! After today, I have weddings coming every week or two weeks – so wedding season 2020 – here we go!!
