D&K adventures: I’m afraid I’ve been a rather boring person this week – every single one of my evenings was spent editing photos – hardcore! I polished off 2 sessions in less than 5 days – that may seem like a lot of time, but when you consider I only have a few hours each evening to work on these sessions – that is amazing time!
We did go out to the mall on Friday night though to do some Christmas shopping & also to check out a new mattress – Derrick’s back has been bothering him for months – he’s gone to 2 different chiropractors, stretches every night before he goes to bed, and still in order to get some sort of relief he has to prop himself up on this mountain of pillows [sleeping at night is the only time his back bothers him]. He’s even resorted to sleeping on the guest bed, which he seems to do just fine on. We bought a Temperpedic mattress when we moved into our house – so it’s no joke. But it also seems to be the blame for Derrick’s back troubles. He decided – what the heck, and called the company to see if they’d replace it under warranty since it simply isn’t giving him the support he needs like it used to when we first got it. So far it seems like they will!! Part of the process though was picking out a new “model” since they don’t make ours anymore – so we wandered around a big furniture store and laid on lots of different mattresses Friday night. We pondered things like: do furniture store employees actually canvas the store to make sure no one is hiding in their furniture overnight? What if someone fell asleep in one of the beds, would they kick them out? Oh, and we found the perfect couch for our living room too – perfect in every way except for the price tag.
Abby’s antics: Looks like someone likes my garland, eh?
Radiating thankfulness: Recently I have been kind of been smacked in the face with how my business is growing – I had to turn down a family for a photoshoot for the first time ever simply because I am just so busy! I want to deliver quality work to my clients & unfortunately that also means a lot of quality time on my end – and Christmas is just too close folks! Someone needs to get on whoever writes the calendar each year & push it back out a few more weeks, because I simply could just use more time! Seriously though – I am so thankful for this little growing business of mine – the work that I put into it is no joke, but it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my whole life!
