Highlight of the Week
I’ve had one goal all week: revamp my website. It’s a really long story, but my website was in desperate need of fixing up! I went back & forth about spending a lot of money & hiring another designer or doing it myself and I just didn’t feel like it was the right decision to pay out over a thousand dollars to have a new website created for me. I have built my own websites before but it literally takes weeks – in total I think my previous 2 websites took me about a month to build. That’s a lot of time to dedicate to such a task! Having decided to forgo the designer route though, I began doing a bit of research into themes and templates and discovered that my current website program (that I’ve already paid for) had an update that I could purchase for just pennies (compared to the thousand plus I would be spending with a designer) and they revolutionized the website building process. They changed so much to this program that they hesitated to even call it the same name. Regardless – the process of building my own website went from being a month long pain-in-the-butt to a week long joy. Seriously! I took all week and dedicated 2-3 hours a day to simply building my new website & I’m so excited to report that it’s just about done!! The bones are all in place, now I just have to go back through and hook up links, make a few little tweeks for mobile, and I plan to release my new website on Monday!! I am SO excited! It is exactly what I want it to look like, is updated to be responsive (meaning no matter what device you look at it on, it will “adapt” to your screen) and I couldn’t be happier!
Yes, This Happened
- My sister & soon-to-be-brother-in-law are officially homeowners! They signed the papers on their house yesterday & have already been in it cleaning, moving things in, trying to envision how they are going to fit all of their stuff, together, in this new place! It is literally the most excting ever!! Today is painting day, so we’ll be headed over in a little bit to help paint – I’m so excited for them! The best part is that they are 1.1 miles from my house! We would even consider walking it in the summer – except we never would because it’s almost all downhill to get to them with one big hill to go up at the end, and it would be all uphill to get home with one big hill to go down at the beginning!
- This is our week of Chrsitmas Parties! Derrick & I both attended our Tuesday’s Together Greensburg, PA Christmas Party on Tuesday night at Tiffany’s studio – it was a crazy snowy day, but it just made everything that much more festive! And then yesterday morning was our Christmas Party at my Mom 2 Mom Bible Study at church. Then tomorrow morning is our Ladies Sunday School Christmas Party! So much fun!
Feeling Blessed
Braelynn can now count to 6! I never realized what a joy it would be to see her learn new things! For weeks, she’s been counting everything “1-2-1-2-1-2” and we’d coach her to get to “3”! Finally! This week! It clicked! And we got “1-2-3”! She’s been counting everything in site and it’s so cute! Her toys, the stairs, the Christmas Tree ornaments – she loves to count! Then, this morning, she was reading books & counting things in the pictures and I heard: “1-2-3..4-5-6” WHAT? Where did that come from?! We went from struggling to even get to 3 to all of a sudden 6! Omigoodness, it’s SO much fun!! I can’t wait to teach her more and more!
