Highlight of the Week
We got new windows this week! Derrick’s parents came down for a few days & Derrick’s Dad installed 5 new windows upstairs for us! Our old windows were so bad – you would shut them but still feel a slight breeze coming through. A few of the windows literally disintegreated in his hands as he was ripping them out! But now we have all new energy-efficient gorgeous windows! We’ve already noticed a difference – not only is the breeze gone, but it just seems quieter. They’re awesome! I’ll have photos on Monday – so stay tuned!
Yes, This Happened
- We had 2 amazing Indian Summer days this week – it was so perfect because there was no problem having our windows replaced, it was so warm! We thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine & being outside – I think that was probably the last of the “coat-less” days this year!
- Amy & I went and had our hair practiced up for the wedding! Everything is just becoming more and more real & I can’t stand it! The bridal shower invitations went out last week & RSVP’s have been coming in all week – it’s so exciting & moving so fast! Make it slow down!
- Thursday night was Ladies Night in Downtown Irwin and thus begins one of my favorite seasons – our little town is such an amazing community & there are so many fun events the town hosts in the coming weeks! Ladies Night – then Light Up Night – then the Cookie Tour! It’s a fabulous way to get people into the small businesses along Main Street, but it’s also just so much fun!
Feeling Blessed
I had lunch this past week with my friend Tiffany. Our friendship is a long story, but in a nutshell: we met in college, became really good friends and she was in Derrick & I’s wedding. She got married about 18 months after we did & I helped photograph her wedding and then we hit some bumps in the road. We parted ways & didn’t talk at all for like 4 years. Thankfully, at the beginning of this year, she reached out & we chatted thru everything & our friendship is on the mend! It’s such a blessing to have friends – and old friends are especially precious. I’m so thankful that she reached out a few months ago & we were able to apologize to & forgive each other for being so crazy/stupid. She’s so sweet & encouraging & I love hanging out!
