Highlight of the Week
Oh man, where to even begin? The last 2 weeks have been a wonderful, happy, busy BLUR. One whole week ago today – my sister got married! It was the most beautiful day – she & Jonathan planned a January snowflake-themed wedding with the hopes of having a lovely snowy wedding day & instead they got the most perfect spring day anyone could ever ask for! Seriously – no joke – it was in the mid 60’s, sunny, and warm last Saturday! Today is a totally different story! It’s in the 20’s and snowing just one short week later (much closer to the weather they were hoping for & is more common for January)! But last Saturday was absolutely beautiful. We didn’t get to wear our matching white pea-coats, but I did promise the bride & groom a snowy photoshoot once they return from their honeymoon and the weather “cooperates”!
Seriously though, it was the most perfect day. Everything went smoothly and so beautifully. It made me love weddings so much more and made me SO excited for all of my 2017 weddings! Weddings seriously are the most incredible days & wow – I get to be a part of all of that! It’s amazing!
PS- if you’d like to see some photos of the wedding, Ellen & Jonathan’s photographer, Joel, posted a few images on his Facebook page as a sneak peek! You can check them out here!
So, technically the wedding was the highlight of last week – and the highlight of this week was Braelynn’s 2nd birthday! We’ve had the most wonderful last few days celebrating our little love-bug! Last night, we had an epic Daniel Tiger themed birthday party and we packed out our house with guests! It was so so wonderful. She has no problem being the center of attention & really loved every moment of everyone paying attention to her. Her favorite gifts so far have been a microphone, little rubber animals, and a plush O The Owl (from Daniel Tiger). So, now our plush set is complete with Daniel, Katerina, and O.
Yes, This Happened
- Keeping on the birthday theme: Braelynn loved everyone singing Happy Birthday to her, but she jumped the gun & blew out her candles before we finished singing! It was hilarious & she thought she was so funny! So, we re-lit the candles & let her blow them out again, and then for fun, we re-lit them a third time! Why not – you only turn 2 once!
- My Grandparents got Braelynn a singing & dancing turtle. She opened him up and was checking him out when someone pressed the button to turn him on. My brother – being the butt that he is – screamed (as a joke) but it scared Braelynn. She ended up crying and buried in my arms and she still isn’t too sure about that singing and dancing turtle!
- We had our friends Aaron & Tiffany over for dinner this past week & had the most amazing time – why do we not invite people over for dinner more often?
Feeling Blessed
My heart is so full. It’s been the most amazing last 10ish days. Our days have been packed full from morning to night and it’s been simply wonderful. I love to be busy. However, I am a little worried about waking up Monday morning because suddenly we don’t have any “major” events on the horizon – what am I going to do? Vacation planning? A week off? Extra sleep (HA HA – I have a toddler – so that’s out) I guess we’ll see! Either way: the first month of 2017 has been EPIC & I cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of the year!
