Highlight of the Week
This past Tuesday was the best Tuesday of the month! It was Tuesdays Together day! In a nutshell, there is this amazing community of creatives called The Rising Tide Society, and their motto is “Community Over Competition”. So once a month, groups of small business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs from all over the world gather to hang out & encourage each other! It’s literally the best! My friend Tiffany runs the group in Greensburg & it’s literally the highlight of my month. We always have such a great time!
Yes, This Happened
- If anyone was paying attention, I didn’t post an Abby’s Saturday last Saturday – GASP – I know! I’m not even sure what happened! I think I was so caught up in the fact that we were home for the weekend (we travel a lot in the summer) and so I didn’t even quite realize that it was Saturday! That is, until I was literally 15 minutes from walking out the door to go second-shoot a wedding & then it hit me like a lightning bolt. For a split second, I looked at the time, looked at my camera, and actually had the thought: I could totally go take a photo & make this work! But then I took a step back, told myself it was okay, and decided I could take a week off. It’s my photo project & I have been regularly posting these for over a year! I think a little break here & there is okay.
- Braelynn has been in destructo mode lately. Instead of just playing with her toys in her little area, she’s carrying them all over the house. Instead of just sitting and drinking her smoothie or juice, she wants to dump it onto the floor & play in it. Instead of just sitting and watching Daniel Tiger, she wants to stand up on the automan and put her hands on the tv. It’s great.
Feeling Blessed
I found my bridesmaids dress for Ellen’s wedding! What a process that has been! My sisters were able to find dresses on the clearance rack of Macy’s for $30 – and my Mom found Ruby a dress online for around the same price. I was the only one without a dress! I was caught between, wanting to find something I loved & fit right and not wanting to spend a ton of money. We went to several dress shops, 2 different malls, and eventually started ordering dresses from Amazon that had free shipping/free returns (AMAZING). I finally bit the bullet and ordered a dress that was a little on the more expensive side & it came in & is amazing! I love it. And Ellen loves it! YAY!
