Highlight of the Week

Home is such a good place to be. After 10 days away, it has been oh-so-wonderful to be home. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the time away and catching up with a bunch of old friends, but there’s just something about being home. It’s been an insane (insane) week of editing and trying to get caught up from those 8,000+ photos I took last week (I’m almost there), but I still wouldn’t trade being home for anything.

Yes, This Happened

• So, we’ve been kind of at a loss with Braelynn & her sleeping habits. Namely, her not-sleeping-thru-the-night habits. Every single night, she goes to sleep in her bed. And every single night, around midnight-ish, she ends up waltzing into our bedroom & crawling into bed with us. We’ve tried putting her back in her bed and that just results in hysterics. So, we decided to attempt a new strategy: we found a cot on Amazon that we picked up (figured it would come in handy while traveling too – so it has multiple purposes) and put it beside our bed. Every night this week, instead of letting her crawl into bed with us, we’ve had her lay down on the cot. It’s in our bedroom & close by, but not in our bed. Let’s just say: it continues to be a work in process. She usually wanders in around midnight and then somehow has been sneaking up into our bed around 3am. So, work in progress.
• Copper (Megan & Anwar’s chocolate lab) was featured this week on The Daily Dog Tag! He’s famous! He held the title of “Best Dog” at his owner’s wedding & actually attended the ceremony. Most Catholic Churches are pretty strict on their rules, but this church actually let Copper witness his owners promising their lives to one another – you have to check it out!
• My birthday is in 3 days (but who’s counting?)
• I found a new “diaper bag” that I’d really like to see in person (you know, before I plunk down the money!), there’s just one problem: it’s listed as “not available” at any Target’s within a 100-mile radius of me. How does that happen?! I mean, I really love my current bag, I’ve been carrying it for almost 2 years (it’s just an oversized messenger bag – it doesn’t scream diaper bag at all), but a friend suggested I try a “backpack” style bag with a busy toddler. Lately, I’ve been feeling like that’s a piece of golden wisdom, so I’ve been on the hunt for a pretty one!
• This week, during breakfast one morning, Braelynn was eating away when she looked up and said, “I’m growing bigger when I eat all my food.” I nodded & said, “Yep! Eating all your food helps you to grow big & strong!” She nodded back & smiled, “I’m growing bigger like a roller coaster!” Hmm, I’m not sure where she’d get that idea.

Feeling Blessed

This week was my favorite day of the month! Tuesdays Together! And this month was especially special as Tiffany (my dear friend & our fearless chapter leader) was able to announce that I am now (officially) her co-leader! Yep! That means, I get to help out a little more and I’ll be running a few meetings while she is out on maternity leave next year! How fun is that? The Rising Tide Society’s mantra is something I truly believe in and being able to help my friend with our group here in Greensburg, PA is definitely an honor. I’m so excited!
