Highlight of the Week
This past week held my favorite day of the month! I know I say this every month, but I truly love the little “networking” group of creative entrepreneurs that my friend Tiffany hosts! And Tuesday was doubly special as not only did I attend the Greensburg Tuesdays Together group in the morning, but Tiffany & I rode downtown to attend the much larger Pittsburgh Tuesdays Together group that evening! I met some fabulous new people & even ended up chatting with one of the photographers for about 30 minutes after the meeting ended (we closed down the place)! I tend to be more of an introvert in large group settings, so going to the larger group was an exercise in stepping out of my comfort zone, but I’m so glad I did. We both really enjoyed it!
Yes, This Happened
- ABBY UPDATE: She’s back to her usual, tail-wagging, happy-go-lucky self! We are so thankful to have our “normal” pup back (and Braelynn is too)!
- Last night, I photographed the smallest & most intimate wedding I’ve ever been a part of! There were just 14 guests in attendance last night & I have to admit, it was a delight. The church was beautiful, the pastor was charming, the guests all super friendly, and the bride & groom so gracious.
- I shared a little bit of my heart this week on the blog – talking about what I believe the first thing you should do after getting engaged is!
- At Nikki & Tony’s wedding last Saturday, I found another amazing bartender!! The weekend before, it was one of my past brides: Courtney. This weekend, it was Brenda! I used to work with Brenda at M&T Bank (back in the day)! It was so much fun to catch up and again, have an amazing old friend to sit & eat dinner with!
- We had another poop on the carpet incident this week. Not near as bad as last week, but still – how does this happen?!
Feeling Blessed
Today, my cousin Zeb marries the love of his life, Emilie. I’m so excited. I’ve been attempting to mentally prepare all week for the roller coaster of a day it’s going to be. I mean, typically, I feel like best friends with a couple after meeting with them, emailing them back & forth, doing their engagement photos, and finalizing details with them, when their wedding day rolls around & I arrive. But today is totally different. Zeb is my cousin – the first cousin I ever met as a fresh new babe. We grew up celebrating birthdays & holidays together, spending weekends together at the lakehouse, and then living next door to each other. I was in Zeb’s parent’s wedding. And today, Ellen & I are photographing their oldest son get married. I honestly can’t even think about it without getting all misty-eyed & emotional, so I better go stash some tissues in my bag right now, before I forget and am without!
