Highlight of the Week
Yesterday we went wedding dress shopping for Ellen!! Wow, what an amazing, incredible, emotional time! We had so much fun watching Ellen try on dresses that made her already stunning self look over-the-moon amazing!! Ahhhh weddings – how I love them! But the BEST part was she found her dress!! It was exactly what she was wanting & literally the perfect price! MY SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED!!
Yes, This Happened
- We went from having no bees to having millions of bees in the matter of days. We literally don’t know where they even came from! Derrick noticed they seemed to be building a nest in the window our A/C was in in the dining room one day, and the next day we had swarms!! The worst part was that they were coming into the house – not good! If you know me at all, you know that I hate bees, so, an exterminator later, we seem to be on track to be getting rid of them – it’s just a work in progress (there are a LOT of bees!)
- We went to Kennywood this week! We weren’t planning on going to Kennywood this year since Braelynn is still a little too short to ride most kiddie-land rides, but Mom had an extra ticket so we went along! We had SO much fun & believe it or not – Braelynn was able to ride MORE rides at Kennywood than she could at Idlewild!! Idlewild claims itself to be the #1 kids park, but my little kid was able to ride more rides at Kennywood than at Idlewild – go figure! She rode her first roller coaster at Kennywood! The Lil’ Phantom – so look out Daddy! Braelynn will be able to ride coasters with you before we know it!
Feeling Blessed
When I looked at my calendar for the year, August was the one month that was bare. No weddings, no shoots booked, nothing! So, we planned a week-long vacation at the end of August and figured it would just be a laid back, chill month. It has been anything but! I have been swamped busy with all kinds of portrait sessions – most of which have re-connected me with previous brides & grooms! It’s fabulous because I literally would not have been able to take on all of these portraits if I had had a normal amount of weddings this month! It’s been nice to take a little wedding break, but I can’t wait to jump back into them with Orion & Brad’s wedding Labor Day weekend!
