Highlight of the Week
Over the last 4 weeks, we have spent more time away from our house than at it. We’ve visited and spent extended time in Texas, New York, and Maryland. It’s been delightful! But also exhausting. I’m one of those weird people who absolutely love the thrill of traveling, don’t mind driving long distances, love the airport, and am completely fine living out of a suitcase. But on the other hand, I love my home & being all together, cooking dinner every night, playing with the dog in the yard, being able to flop down on the couch & read books with Braelynn, and snuggle with Derrick while Netflixing before bed. I honestly love both! But, over the last month, the scales have tipped a little heavy in the “traveling” side instead of the “home” side & I’m ready to get back to a balance of the two.
Yes, This Happened
- Okay – last week I asked about ants, and this week I’m asking about wood-boring bees. What do I do to keep them away? They’ve already bored 2 holes in my porch & you can tell it’s just the beginning. Is there something I can spray on the wood to deter them? Again, the solution needs to be kid & pet safe – help!
- I went to a naturalist doctor this week – not for anything super major, but just to kind of check on a few things. It was a fascinating & educational experience. His conclusions about my thyroid, gut, & digestion seem right on & I’m excited to get my health back on track (not that it was ever super “off track”, I just haven’t been feeling 100% up to par in recent months & I think we’ve figured out why!)
Feeling Blessed
Two weeks ago I assisted my sister in our first wedding of the 2017 season, but today officially kicks off my season with my KAP Couples! I wrote on Instagram that the theme of this year seems to be “You might have seen these folks before” as I’ve worked with over half of my KAP Couples this year in the past – either as immediate family members of a bride & groom or members of a bridal party! It is so humbling to realize that my dreams are coming true & these relationships I’ve formed with my KAP Couples truly are lasting & amazing. Check back early next week for a highlight blog post of Matt & Tara’s wedding today!
