Highlight of the Week
Does being home count as a highlight? After 10 days away, it’s been so wonderful to be home! I’ve so enjoyed sleeping in my own bed, waking up & tackling our usual morning routine, jumping in the car & running to Target (just 3 minutes away), and watching New Girl with Derrick at night! Being home also means tons of work – I photographed 7 portrait sessions + a wedding last week & I’ve been working feverishly to get these photos turned around (especially since I have 2 portrait sessions + a wedding next week!) I’m not even close to being caught up, but as long as I keep plugging along I’ll be okay!
Yes, This Happened
- We have 2 window A/C’s (one upstairs & one downstairs) and Derrick took both of them out of our windows this week. If that isn’t a sure-tell sign that summer is over & fall has arrived, I don’t know what is!
- I put Braelynn’s hair up in pig tails for the first time this week! Omigoodness, I think I completely turned to a pile of melted mush – they are so cute! She barely has enough hair, but just enough to pull up & they are adorable!! Her hair gets so tangled & knotted in the back, I feel like the pig tails really helped that BUT they make her look so much older & more mature. Ugh, the battle.
Feeling Blessed
I switched out all of Braelynn’s summer clothes for fall clothes this week (along the “fall is here” line of thought). It’s seriously so surreal to pull out clothes I remember buying and thinking “she will never be big enough to fit into these” and here we are! She is so spoiled, her drawers are overflowing with adorable warm clothes! I mean, fall clothes are perfectly adorable as they are and then make them in mini-size and they are impossible to pass up! She is the best dressed kid around!
